U12 Division 2 team maintain their 100% record

U12 Division 1 team maintain their 100% record  Spring League U12 Division 2 Round 4 Opposition – Trim Venue – Trim Final Score – Trim 1-02 Simonstown 4-02 On a beautiful Sunday evening our U12 girls played their Round 4 Spring League game away against Trim. While the girls were determined to keep up their 100% record so far in the league they knew based on past history that this would be a very tight game. Both teams have always been evenly matched and this game proved no different. The first quarter was played by both teams at an incredible tempo and chances came and went both ends with both defences very much on top. With Alex J Connor, Chloe Brady and Mia Galligan keeping a close guard on the Trim forwards and Aoibheann Brady sweeping up any long balls it looked like the first quarter would end scoreless until Trim broke through and registered a point. If there had been any doubt about this Trim team the girls now knew they had a battle on their hands. With this in their minds they began to settle better and play the football we know they are capable of. Chloe Caffrey and Emma Brogan got to grips with midfield and Emma Marriage and Zoe Coyne now had ball they could work with. SIMONSTOWN LADIES·SUNDAY, 9 APRIL 2017 Division 1 Adult League - Round 2 Simonstown v St. Ultans Sean Newman Park Sunday April 9th Half time: Simonstown 3 - 08 - St. Ultans 0 - 04 Full time: Simonstown 6 - 11 - St. Ultans 1 - 12 Simonstown Ladies playing with the aid of a strong breeze literally blew the opposition away. The NSB girls set the tone of match early on when Kelsey Nesbitt and Regina Hand found the back of the Ultans net in the first three minutes. Ultans hit a point in the fourth minute but the Simonstown girls once again went on a scoring spree adding another goal from Nesbitt and three points from Lane (f), Lauryn Grier and Mollie Byrne before St. Ultans found a reply courtesy of Geraldine Doherty. To be fair to the Ultans girls they had the Simonstown back line under severe pressure at times but true to form Simonstown held firm and cut out several attacks before they resulted in any scores. Before the end of the half Simonstown once again added another five points from Tara Berigan, Mollie Byrne (2) Reggie Hand and Ailbhe McHugh! McHugh with the pick of the points as she hit a ball at an acute angle to send it over the bar! Simonstown went into the break with a tidy lead of 3 - 08 to four points. The second half started more or less the same for the Blues as almost from the throw in Nesbitt was again on the score sheet. A timely point to get things moving again! Ultans now playing with...
