St. Pat's off to a winner

Simonstown players were to the fore as St. Pat's opened their Leinster Colleges SFC campaign with a facile victory over St. Declan's of Cabra in Pairc Tailteann today, Tuesday.

Padraig McKeever and Sean Tobin - the team's captain - contributed 1-3 and 1-2 respectively as Colm O'Rourke's charges scored a comprehensive 4-12 to 2-5 success.

Michael Sweeney, Shane McGivney, Stephen O'Reilly and Shane Barry were other Simonstown players to feature on the starting XV while Ciaran Carr was introduced as a substitute.
