Minors off to winning start

Padraig McKeever was in good scoring form

Centre-forward Padraig McKeever scored 3-2 as Simonstown advanced to the semi-final stages of the MFC with a comfortable victory over Round Towers at a wind swept Marty on Sunday morning.

 
McKeever netted his first in the 4th minute and added a second via the penalty spot thirteen minutes later after MacDarragh Fitzpatrick was fouled.
 
The team in sky blue led by 2-4 to 1-2 at the break and Fitzpatrick added a third goal midway through the second half before McKeever completed his hat-trick two minutes from the end.
 
Captain Shane McGivney, Stephen O'Reilly and Conor Sheridan were others to impress for the winners.
