Simonstown Under 12s beat Duleek
U12 B Division 6 - Round 2
Simonstown v Duleek/Bellewstown. (away)
Thursday 13th April 2017
Half time: Simonstown 1 - 02 - Duleek/Bellewstown 0 - 03
Full time: Simonstown 1 - 05 - Duleek/Bellewstown 0 - 04
In our second game of the season Simonstown travelled to Duleek on Thursday evening to face a team that had won their first game of the campaign so the pressure was on the girls to get the victory after the previous weeks defeat to Trim.
From the start of this game the girls showed they were up to the task and Aoishe Leddy calmed any nerves with a lovely point. The girls had obviously taken on board what we had gone through in training during the week and the ball was now being moved quickly up the field from defence through midfield to the forwards and we were creating some great chances but just missing the scoring touch.
Duleek though were not to be outplayed too easily and were quickly back into the game with 3 points. But another Aoishe Leddy point quickly followed with a great goal left the half time score Duleek 0-03 Simonstown 1-02.
The second half of this game really belonged to Simonstown and as Caitlin, Mia, Inessa, Cara and Emma really got to grips with the Duleek forwards our midfield due of Erin and Ruby took control and kept the ball moving into Aoishe, Chloe, Hayleigh, Ava in the forward line. With Molly and Nia coming on as subs we were able to keep the team fresh and the end result of this fantastic team work was another 2 points for Aoishe while Ruby also got on the score sheet with a fine point. All of this along with the girls keeping Duleek to a single point in the second half meant a final score line of Duleek 0-04 Simonstown 1-05
This was a great and fully deserved win for the girls and special thanks must go to Chloe Brady for agreeing to stand in goals for us.
Next up is another away game against Drumbaragh on Saturday evening 22th April with a 5pm throw in.
Team: Chloe Brady, Caitlin Maguire, Mia Galligan, Inessa Bardiukova, Cara Cahill, Emma Marriage, Erin Gallagher, Ruby Lee White, Aoishe Leddy, Chloe Guinan, Hayleigh Watters, Ava Hynes, Nia Deegan and Molly Egan.
