U-14 Spring League Result:
Simonstown 4-6 Summerhill 0-4
Well done to our under-14’s who picked up their first win of the Spring League with a good victory against Summerhill on Thursday evening in Simonstown. The home team started very well and Mark Rennicks struck for a goal with the first score of the game. On what was a wet night for football, the lads still put together some good passing moves and points followed from Thomas Dowdall, Davy McKeever, Aaron Farrelly and Cian Cantwell. Sean McDermott finished off a fine flowing move with a great shot for our second goal to leave the half time score 2-4 to 0-2.
The lads continued their good form into the second half. Every player introduced played their part. At the back, goalie Seweryn Pasek and the entire defence worked well together to keep the Summerhill attack at bay. At the other end, goals from Rennicks and Cantwell and points from McKeeever and Senan Campbell rounded off the second half scoring.
For Simonstown Daragh Dooner, Davy McKeever, Erik Mooney, Cillian Brennan and Conor Staunton all impressed in what was a good all round team performance.
Next up for the Under-14’s is a round 3 match with our neighbours Navan O’Mahonys.
